Negroni
The classic Negroni is a simple Italian cocktail made with equal parts gin, Campari, and sweet vermouth. The dry gin and citrusy Campari create a complex, bitter profile, while the vermouth adds sweetness. Serve it either in a martini glass or over ice in an old-fashioned glass. For a twist, garnish with an orange peel, or try a flaming orange twist by lighting a match and squeezing the peel’s oils into the drink for added aroma. To make it less sweet, increase the gin by ¼ ounce for a drier version.
Yield: Serves 1
Ingredients:
- 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) sweet vermouth
- 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) Campari
- 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) dry gin
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Twist of navel orange peel
